Sarvajanik Vachanalay Kalyan is a very old library in Thane
Since 1968 fund collection drive for this purpose started. The inauguration of new construction was done at the hands of member of the legislative assembly and Minister for Social Welfare and Tourism, Maharashtra State, Shri Madhusudan Vairale. For construction of the building a grant of Rs.twenty five thousand was received from government of Maharashtra. Inauguration of the new hall took place at the hands of Annasaheb Dahanukar, Sherif of Mumbai in 1969.
